Does anyone know where the holding sidings are/were at WV? I have some light locos that terminate there in my WTT and I assumed that H.S. was "Heath Town Sidings" but I think it is standard for Holding Sidings although I cannot find much reference to them online, just some notes about a working from the 1970s that went LE from WV HS to Bescott HS. The only old maps I can find don't have that much detail. Thanks Log in to reply |

Looking at an early edition of quail, I believe the Holding Sidings are US1/2/3 in the simulation.

The loco holding sdgs at Wolverhampton were mainly used by the Cl.47/4 diesel locos that came from Bescot in the early morning ready to work trains to & from Shrewsbury via Wolverhampton & the electric locos that either came off trains or worked trains forward to London Euston. Locos on freight diagrams weren't stabled at Wolverhampton holding sdgs. Freight locos would usually go to or come from Bescot. The 2 carriage Sdgs at Wolverhampton were used by EMUs. The Inter-City services that originated & terminated at Wolverhampton were worked to & from Oxley CS by the train engine.
