Just a suggestion. Would love to see people able to select what sims they have whilst joining a game. For example if I was to click join on a game it would provide a popup box with the list of sims being hosted (If there's a chain) and being able to select what sims I own.

In my opinion this would allow people to see what sims others have and whether there would be enough space in the game for themselves.

This would also give the host a rough idea on what sim/panel to allocate people.

I hope this is possible (Website constraints dependent)

Please let me know your thoughts.

Have a good weekend!

To check that I've understood this right, are you asking for this list to be displayed on the games page when you register that you're joining? For example "John Smith- Sim X, Sim Y"? Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

I'm happy to raise a ticket for this on Mantis, but as written at the moment I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for.

I believe the original post meant, or if not then this is also just my personal opinion, that the list should be decided by the registering user when clicking register. Users may have all the simulations, but want to indicate preference. Users may also just want to keep the list of owned sims private.

I'm not exactly sure how much we could do to improve things, but I've logged 35838 to ask the question and see what we can reasonably do.

So yeah next to the names it would have the simulations that the person has.

Maybe before the date of them signing up to the game.

Perhaps have it as an option so that anyone signing up to a game puts a tick (if they wish to) next to which of the sims they have which are part of that game?

Is there a perceived risk to people knowing which sims people own?

That's not the point. Data protection law assumes that people want to keep their information private, so you need a good reason to hold or process someone else's data. They don't need to perceive any risk. The risk is you being fined.

To ask another question…..

Would you be happy if anyone could see what bondage equipment you’d purchased, or how much alcohol you’d bought etc.

It’s a matter of principle that such information is not shared. If someone volunteers that information, like Dave Harries suggested above, then that’s fine, but a company cannot simply publish it.

Was simply a question as part of the discussion, thanks for your insights.
