Evening ladies and gents,

Started on a timetable for North East Scotland recently, during which I encountered a slight (what is to me) oddity. Was wondering if anyone could shed light on it:

Whilst adding the HSTs on the Aberdeen to Kings Cross and vice-versa workings, I noticed that going from Aberdeen to the fringe at Ladybank Main you do not need to put Newtonhill in the Locations list, however returning north the sim does not understand the route without Newtonhill in the Locations list.

Just curious as to what causes this. I am aware, I should point out, that it is a beta sim. As for why I'm starting a timetable (with the help of two others as I've never done a timetable fully before) on a beta sim, it is partly to get experience of timetabling for SimSig and partly so me and my flatmates (the other two helping with it) can play the sim. If all goes well, I may be tempted to do a timetable for one of the other sims eventually.

If anyone can shed light on this, I'd be glad to hear from you

Aberdeen to Stonehaven is a valid route in both directions.

Oh really now laddie? :P

Sure didn't work last night! For reference, my Locations for each direction are:

Aberdeen
Ferryhill Junction
Craiginches South Junction
Stonehaven

The reverse of that will not work for me, so had to make the northbound into:

Stonehaven
Newtonhill
Craiginches South Junction
Ferryhill Junction
Aberdeen

Quite why the sim accepts the route for the southbound stuff and not the northbound stuff without Newtonhill I am unsure, but there we are, it accepts it that way and no other! ::

:O

Just tried to check the route on the PC (as I was slaving away on the laptop last night) and got "Test version expired" come up. So glad I hadn't done any more work on it than I had so far...:|

All paths are coded by me so what is accepted and not accepted is down to what I tell it.

Now Aberdeen, Stonehaven is valid and vv (without intermediate locations) but if you start putting in intermediates you need to build it up location by location. the reason you don't need Newtonhill in the Up direction is because I seem to have allowed it.

The expiry was announced in the Temporary postings area.

I see, then please accept my apologies for my moody in appearance posts. Not at all obvious I don't make timetables for SimSig is it? lol

Didn't see the post about the expiry. Never mind eh?

Hi Peter,

It would be nice if the TT validator could automatically add Newtonhill as a timing point, one day. Thanks!

Cheers
