Motherwell

Introduction

Motherwell power signal box is situated to the east of Motherwell station and is a NX panel dating back to the 1970s when the WCML was electrified to Glasgow. The box supervises parts of the busy outer suburban network south east of Glasgow, and almost all of the WCML's route over Beattock to the border with England.

The simulation in the main represents the post-electrification layouts notionally around 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2015. Through the 2010s, Motherwell's control area was gradually transferred to West of Scotland Signalling Centre, closing fully at the end of 2019.

The sim represents the NX panel layout pretty accurately.
