FAQ: 'SimSig is not installed' error when starting the Loader

Some users have reported installing SimSig, only for an error message to inform them that SimSig is not installed when they attempt to start the Loader. It is likely that the SimSig font was not installed; this is due to certain versions of Windows not allowing access to the Font folder for installers. This includes the "S" versions of Windows, such as "Windows 10S" and "Windows 11S". These prevent any non-Microsoft Store applications from installing fonts and certain other files, and unfortunately there is no way for SimSig to get around this without manual intervention.

To remedy this, please download the SimSig Font here: https://www.simsig.co.uk/File/Download/2722

Once downloaded, right-click on the file and select Install from the pop-up menu, or copy the font to the following location on your machine: C:\Windows\Fonts

The Loader should now start successfully.

In case you're using Linux, see this page how to install the Wine registry file that fixes this. But still you need the system files to be correctly installed.
