Detection

Detection

When points are moved, the interlocking system needs to know that that both point blades are in the correct position, and locked.

The point motor normally has at least 3 connecting rods to the point blades, 1 to move the rails, and 2 to verify that both blades have moved to the correct position.

If this detection is not obtained, the Interlocking will prevent any signals from showing a proceed aspect when set over that direction. It does not prevent the route from setting.
