Seeding

Seeding

Seeding is the act of creating trains to move to their "real" starting place at the start of the simulation. This is because often trains are stabled overnight in stations and when a SimSig simulation starts those trains need to exist. They are therefore "seeded" at an appropriate entry point so that they can run to their stabling position. In most simulations, trains are seeded directly at the signal they would normally be at at the time the simulation starts. In earlier simulations without this feature, they enter at the closest entry point to where they need to be. The entry point itself may not be realistic for that type of train - the purpose is to populate the simulation.
