Introduction

The first part of the frequently requested and long anticipated Doncaster PSB: due to the size, complexity and traffic levels, the PSB has been split into 3 simulations, of which Doncaster North is also available wile Doncaster Station is under development. Doncaster South places you in control of Panel 1 and a small part of Panel 2 at Doncaster PSB. The area covers the East Coast Main Line from just south of Grantham to just south of the Doncaster station and yard complex and includes the famous (and unique) flat crossing at Newark, where the Lincoln- Nottingham line crosses the ECML on the level.

The area (along with the section north of Doncaster to York) is known as the 'two track' section of the ECML. This presents the signaller with a big regulation challenge, to keep freight traffic moving around the frequent express passenger schedule. While the passenger traffic follows a basic 'clockface' pattern in the supplied timetables, calls at Grantham, Newark and Retford are often picked up by different trains in different hours. Combined with the Open Access operations to Hull, Bradford and Sunderland, no two hours are the same. There's also local traffic around Grantham to handle, and you'll need to find gaps to slot Lincoln traffic across the ECML!

There's no need to worry about the MCB and CCTV level crossings- as these are worked by local crossing keepers or a dedicated crossings desk in real life, they function automatically in the simulation, allowing you to focus on regulating traffic through the area.

Doncaster South is a payware simulation- to play beyond a short demo period requires the purchase of a license from the Products area .
