North East Wales

Wales & Borders Region

:usertrack:areainfo:northeastwales.png

Introduction

SimSig’s third visit to Wales. Covering 40 miles of mainline, and just under 30 miles of branch line, the North East Wales simulation covers four signal boxes. You are in control of the Shrewsbury - Chester mainline, from just south of Gobowen, through to Saltney Junction, where the line joins the main line from Holyhead and together they head into Chester. You also control the Wrexham Central – Bidston branch line (The Borderlands line) from the buffer stops at Wrexham Central to just before Neston station. Long block sections on all lines, and the single line to Saltney Junction, can make this simulation a challenge if delays and failures are introduced. Absolute Block is also in use.

North East Wales is currently free to download and play, although Donations are gratefully received.

To my team of testers, and timetable writers, thank you for the effort you have put in over the last six months to get this sim to where it is today.

A thanks must go to members of the signalling staff who work, or have worked in the signal boxes simulated - your local knowledge has been invaluable.

Thank you to Andrew Gardiner for kindly providing several splash screens for inclusion with the sim.
