Greetings, I am still trying to get my TT for Sunday 08th May finished. At the time of writing this I have 883 trains written in - and have hit a snag. On the day in question the services between Reigate and Tonbridge are running between Reigate and Edenbridge due to engineering works between Edenbridge and Tonbridge. The trains terminating at Edenbridge are then working wrong line back to Redhill to cross back over at either Godstone GF or Nutfield (not sure which). However the only entry point I can use for those trains is Tonbridge. THe trip time from Tonbridge to Edenbridge is 14 minutes (or thereabouts) which means that trains from Edenbridge will have to enter sim probably before their previous working has left the area which, of course, makes no sense. As a result I can think of only two solutions to this: 1. Close the Redhill - Tonbridge route completely and drop all the 2Axx trains from the TT. This is probably the most obvious solution but is contrary to the scenario I am building this TT around (which involves 2 or 3 locations of engineering works in the sim area alone, never mind what is going on outside the TBASC area). Doing this would also give me a better chance of finishing the rest of the TT before the end of the day but I want to incorporate what I can here. 2. Revise the timings and put a rule in to regulate the entry which would be good but the turnaround time for trains terminating at Edenbridge does not exceed 10 minutes. This means that any attempt to make the trains run to time is going to be somewhat tricky if I run them to Tonbridge because Edenbridge to Tonnbridge is about 14 minutes running time. An entry point for Edenbridge, rather than Tonbridge, would be great here but I don't have that. If you were building this TT, what would you do in a situation like this? Advice will be very welcome. Cheers, Dave Last edited: 07/05/2022 at 16:52 by DaveHarries Reason: None given Log in to reply |

Would it be possible to delay or expedite the entry times as to simulate a proper 14 minute runtime? So essentially, the train enters early or late as an ECS (with a class 2 headcode) and then run as the WTT dictates.

I'd timetable them in from Tonbridge at a suitable time for them to pick up the return working from Edenbridge. Set the rules up so that the train appears X minutes after the inbound train arrives at Redhill (or another intermediate station) if the run time to Edenbridge exceeds the minimum turnaround time. Remember that outbound trains will need to be timetabled through to Tonbridge or they won't fall off the sim. I did consider that idea but the service is Edenbridge - Redhill and the turnaround time at Redhill is only 4 minutes. And there, potentially, is another problem. They are not running through to Tonbridge on 08th May. Dave Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Newhampshires |

So you could put a rule on the up train that it must enter X minutes after its down working passes Godstone - logic there being that's beyond the last point of delay for Three Bridges. It's not part of the visible simulation so it won't be too obvious. "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now." I will set the entry time for 6mins before time of departure from Edenbridge. Dave Last edited: 07/05/2022 at 19:56 by DaveHarries Reason: None given Log in to reply |
