Old Cowlairs mode, 1984 timetable. At the moment I wanted to set a route into Gartcosh Works for a train from Gartsherrie South Jn, another train came out of the Works. I was unable to set the inward route, and the outward train was going to Gartsherrie South Jn so could not be routed either: I had already granted the slot to Motherwell. Maybe it's better to have Gartcosh Works ask permission for sending trains to avoid gridlocking issues like this one. Or maybe it could be allowed to route a train into Gartcosh Works even if an outward train is waiting. AJP in games Log in to reply |

Can you tell me which train it was ? Most of them are a reasonable time apart. I'll add a rule for it, there's a minor update to the timetable due out soon-ish Bill Log in to reply |

" said:Can you tell me which train it was ? Most of them are a reasonable time apart.Bill That will do nicely in the short term. In the longer term Peter has logged it on the bugboard against CScot and will put data in place to stop it happening in the next refresh of the sim. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 24/02/2013 at 21:07 by postal Log in to reply |

I think it was between 6T31-8 and 6T31-9, but it only existed because -8 was 40 minutes late and -9 entered early. Since the trains into and out of Gartcosh Works in the '84 timetable are about an hour apart, if you create a rule for one train you should have to do it for all 6T31/6T43 trains: the train leaving the siding must only come after the previous train has arrived at Gartcosh Works. After all it sounds logical to have had an entering train before there is a train leaving the siding. AJP in games Log in to reply |

The Gartcosh end is set with on rules for 'out-after-in', and 6T31-8 and -9 are a pair in this respect so should never have met. However there's nothing to prevent the next train to Gartcosh appearing while there's one still in there or about to appear. Equally the 6T43 train pair, as opposed to the 6T31 Ravenscraig3 shuttles, are independent. Around 09:00 both are in the works, perhaps I need 6T31-5 not to enter until 6T43 arrives ? regards Bill Log in to reply |

I had not kept a note of which train it was. I just saw in my F7 window that 6T31-8 was 40 late so I thought it would have been that one. It was early on the day so it may well have been 6T43 vs 6T31-5 (EDIT: Just loaded a save, clicking on 6T31-5 in F4 shows me a delay of -47).

Just retested this, and the advice is as follows: Do not give the slot until you have set the route to Gartcosh to allow the train away. With the route set into Gartcosh, nothing will enter. With normal delays, this is only needed for the extra working 6T43, as the 6T31 series are set up as in-out pairs. If it all gets very late you might get the next 6T31 appear from Ravenscraig, but that could happen for real. Bill Log in to reply |
