Is there any one working on a timetable for 2014, for Southampton, [ for the current downloadable version]? Thought I had better ask before starting one.

I had been working on one for myself using the 2013 Timetable. I don't have the CWN's for the December 2014 Timetable however so havn't started working on it. Is this the one you were meaning? I had been doing it for my own purposes but it could be released..... Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

Hi Woodruff By any chance would you have the Cross Country service allocations at all? I have service information, but they were the only operator that I couldnt find any Rolling Stock Allocations for! I can't imagine much changed for them between the 2013 and 2014 timetable down the coast... Cheers Andrew Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

Hi kaiwhara www.realtimetrains.co.uk & www.opentraintimes.com Are really usefeull web site for any modern timetables. Please note that they hold timetable info for approx 3 month in advance but only keep the info for seven days. So you need to pick a date in advance as far as you can and then save the page, [ control A and save as]. This will help as you only need an internet connection but can also save the page to either excel or open office spread sheet. All you need to do is then on the button marked all is filter to either XC . SN . SW TOC. You will also need four of the network rail timetables. WG01 WG05 for passenger workings & WK06 WK07 for freight. You can down load these for free for the Network rail web site, [ I would also down load the info pages for each timetable as they have really usefull pages]. What I then do is get as much info from the two web pages as I can then use the NR tt [ if you save and have pdf reader], then you can "find" by doing a search of the page for the train id that you want. This way you can get the detailed info that you need. For example I have found that the two web sites that provide the train info Real and Trainlines, appear to round up the times. So insted of having a time of 09:59h for example they round it ip to 10:00 or 09:58. The NT tt also provide the engeneering allowances and pathing. You can download the sectional route guides from the NR website as well. Word of warning the two web pages do not provide freight train headcodes! So you have to match them up as best as you can. Also they do not alsways provide the next working of any train, but it is easier to match them up than using the NR info. As an aside up to know I have the XC and SN trains down and am working through the SW trains before I do the freight. I would note that the sim is not a new one, hint hint to any developer!, so does not have all the features on the timetable editor that the newer sims do, aka you cannot seed trains. The lengh calculator and the info on the SimSig wiki pages will also give you really usefull info about the train lenghs etc. One bit of info I was told of from the forum is that Freight trains lenghs are normally no longer than 62 SLU. Just so they can fit in most yards. Hope this helps. If not give me a bell. Also , just ask on the forum. There are people on the forum who do the job and also have much more knowledge and are willing to share the info. Log in to reply |

Hi Woodruff I have all that information already, as well as Southern Diagrams, and the SWT Carriage Working Notices. I also have a good deal of freight information as well. What I am missing is the Diagrams for Cross Country, so thus far I have had to randomly imagine what each XC services is operated with, 220 or 221. Otherwise, all other operators service consists are correct. I would love to attend a Simsig meeting, however as I am in New Zealand, that isn't really practical. Guys, there is actually something very funny going on with my install. Simsig Southampton has no trouble finding and opening the SX2013 timetable I am writing, but when I go to C://Program Files (x86)/Simsig/Southampton which is where it is installed too, neither that, or the file TT_analysis.txt are there, and further, when you try to export to the same folder - there they are, but you can't open them! What the hell is going on??!! Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

Do u have a button called compatibility files? If you have and push it the "hidden files" will be revealed. In some versions of windows, it would hide files that are in it's protected area. When I used those versions I would create my own folders for SimSig so I could see all the files.

The Networkrail wtt has a heading that lets you know what the train timing is based on aka 220 or 221. Does not mean that that is what the train actually is though. But it does give some idea. I have based the XC on my tt on 5 car 221. There used to be a web site called the junction that had the actual diagrams but I do not think it is up and running any more. A quick check on the internet did find this web site http://www.prar.fsnet.co.uk/diagrams.html. So you might get some info from this, though it is from 2007 I think. Yes a bit far to come all the way to the Uk for a one day meet lol. Log in to reply |

Ah well, might just assume some are 220, and others are 221's, and marry them up at Bournemouth to make sure what went down as a 220, comes back as a 220! Found the files, they were hidden in a "Virtual Folder". God knows why, but I have found them! Woodruff, you mention you are working on the 2014 timetable. Do you have the Diagrams and CWN's for Southern and SWT? I've got 2013's lot..... Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait! Log in to reply |

Hi Kaiwhara. Only have the info from the two web sites that I orignaly posted about. Also the NetworkRail working timetable info from their web site. If you go to the Networkrail web page they still have the working timetable[s] for 2013. You should be able to get the info as to whether a XC train was a 220 or 221 from the timing load info. I have some from 2011 lying about on my PC from somewhere. Covers 220 and 221's although the only real difference is different headcodes on some services. If you want it just PM me your e-mail addy, I doubt the diagrams have changed that much to be honest.. Last edited: 17/02/2014 at 12:23 by Underwood Log in to reply |

Bear in mind that units do run in double to Bournemouth/Southampton on some workings. I don't have any information on which ones, though

Hi All Just a quick note to say I have May 2013's timetable finished, just started testing it now. Current total 509 trains, covering 0000 - 2500, using information such as Southern Unit Diagrams, South West Trains CWN, Network Rail WTT, FGW pretty much all 3/158's except the 2M's, 2V's and 2O's which I have assumed are 2/150's and one of the Brighton's which is a 2/158. I have set the Voyagers as "Best Educated Guess" from the 2010 Diagrams, so actual unit allocations may not be 100% correct, but the services are. Freight services are included as they were in May 2013, assuming a Wednesday. I am trying to find information around Light Locomotive Movements around Southampton MCT, I'm assuming there are some of these around to visit the Depot Sidings, but will confirm. Currently there are no Light Loco workings that are not published in the WTT. Will advise when it ready. Shouldn't be too far away. Hi Kaiwhara. In the 2014 tt I have found four le movements in the wtt; OY20 0W49 and another two which I could not find the head codes for and have used the Eastleigh Le code; 0O691 0O692. Do you want me to Pm the info to you for your timetable? Log in to reply |

Hiya Yes, if you don't mind please? I have quite a few Light Engine moves as there are a number that appear in the WTT. What I don't know a lot about are the local movements around MCT that do not impact on the main lines, I imagine that each inbound and outbound from MCT would have a matching Light Horse move to and from the Depot Reception? Andrew It has been a while since I looked at the Southampton sim, however my unstanding is that the Depot Reception is a wagon repair facility rather than a locomotive depot, I would imagine that any light engine moves would either be in the published working timetable or be issued as a control special between the MCT and Eastleigh T&RSMD.
