Enjoying my first run through South Humberside, but run into my first problem that I can't find an already posted solution for. It's 07:09 and 2F82 has left Barton on Humber. I've set the route from OM28 to OM27, but OM28 doesn't clear. 2F82 comes to a halt and calls in. I've tried setting the route from OM27 to OM26 and clearing Oxmarsh Level Crossing, but OM28 still doesn't clear. I guess I'll authorise the driver to pass signal OM28 at danger, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong... Log in to reply |

And in an interesting followup: 07:10 Barrow Road: train passed with crossing open. So I'm supposed to close this crossing? Manual suggests it's a MWC, but there's no "buttons" to operate it on the sim? Log in to reply |

Hmmm.....The train should deal with the crossing on its own without the need for the signaller to do anything and the signals should clear on their own. I will investigate further......

Possibly related; I've had the same problem with a couple of Down Trains where OM6 wouldn't clear. I was trying to find the trigger or pattern before I reported it.

The original problem is down to the way way the auto lower is implemented. It requires the route to be set over the crossing when the train hits a certain point. Most people set the route from OM28 as soon as the train enters the branch knowing there is no other trains around and the train going in will be coming out. If this is done the crossing works without fault. However, if the train leaves Barton-on-Humber and gets to OM28 before the route over the crossing is set, then the lowering point has been passed and the crossing will remain open. The same is true for trains in the opposite direction from Goxhill. The trigger point is prior to reaching OM5R. If a train passes that point without the route set from OM5 to OM6 then the crossing remains up. The lowering conditions have been modified and should be fixed in the next release Log in to reply |
