Sunday Egineering WTT for Victoria Central - by James Underwood ---------------------------------------- Based on schedules running on 30th March 2014, with SN consists taken from the altered CWN. Between Balham and Selhurst, all services are using the slow lines all day, and the Up Slow Battersea is also closed all day. This may have an impact if points fail or a TCF/signal failure pops up! Regards to the Up Slow Battersea, is this just in the station area or from Signal 586 to Signal 554 as it's not 100% clear Log in to reply |

Firsty - there is no line called the Up Slow Battersea. Secondly - to my knowledge, there has almost never been a one line engineers possession on the main line. They will pretty much always take at least two. The Up/Dn Brighton Slows, the Up/Dn Brighton Fast, or occasionally at Up Brighton Slow/Dn Brighton Fast. It is quite common for the Up & Down Brighton Slows to be blocked to/from Battersea Pier Jn, blocking the crossovers from Up Fast to Slow and Down Slow to Fast. This means you cannot depart towards Clapham Jn from platform 9-11, or arrive there from Clapham. However, it does leave the Battersea Reversible open to get GatEx stock to/from Stewarts Lane depot. But the instructions say there IS a UP Slow Battersea unless they meant to say the Up Brighton Slow in the Battersea area which is why I'm very confused as it's not a area I use much for travelling. It says in the timetable that ALL trains from Clapham Junction towards Battersea leave on the Up Brighton Slow proceed to crossover to the Up Brighton Fast then after Battersea proceed back onto the Up Brighton Slow which makes me wonder if there was a engineering blockade on the Up Brighton Slow between these stations otherwise wouldn't they have just continued to use the Up Brighton Slow all the way??? As i said, if the Up Brighton Slow is blocked from Clapham Junction, it is very common, if not every time, for the crossover from the Up Brighton Fast to the Up Brighton Slow at Battersea Park/Pier to be out of use due to the possession limits.

Sorry for the confusion guys, it is indeed the Up Brighton Slow at Battersea closed, crossover from Up Slow to Up Fast in use just after Clapham Junction. The Up Brighton Slow and Down Brighton Fast was closed that day, so no calls at Battersea Park in the up direction, only down trains on the Down Brighton Slow were able to call at Battersea Park. Stoppers using the Up Brighton Fast were crossing over back to the slow at Battersea Pier Jn to access the lower numbered platforms, P9 P10 etc. As mentioned, a .SSG is included with the possessions in place, probably not 100% to the exact mile, as the start/end mileage points were roughly worked out by the quail map, so might be a track section short or too long but you get the idea. The work noted from the mileage notes were just south of Battersea Park, and the platforming was as per altered CWN and Real Time Trains data, so P9 etc was able to be used that day. Any faults you find, please let me know for a fix. I haven't tested it as, in theory, it should work fine...though sometimes there is always something, tested or not
