Having done more searching and come up with nowt, what are the lengths of the Lawley Street A&D and Saltley Sidings? Also have I got the wrong impression that Saltley siding has been taken OOU as all modern Freightliners are timetabled to reverse at Lawley Street Through Siding? As an aside, what is/was the A&D siding used for as I have never seen trains timetabled in there (in Simsig-land anyways!). TIA In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream... Log in to reply |

So it turns out that Saltley Siding is 460m long and Lawley Street A&D Siding is 30m long. Guess that answers my query about Saltley siding being taken 'OOU' for modern 'Liner trains looking at their length. Looks like the A&D sdg is long enough for a Class 66 (see here - bottom left) or a couple of 08/09s. The naming mislead me as I took it to mean a bolt hole for an early running intermodal, either in or out of the terminal. Guess it was probably a leftover from the old Goods station? There was me hoping for a story or two... ;) <\Grabs hat and coat and is out the door> In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream...
