Small problem but does anyone know if it possible to minimise and maximise the screen when running the Peterborough Sim so that you can again see the computer toolbar. I am running the latest version of Peterbrough

Go to the Display tab in the F3 screen and check the "run in windowed mode" box then re-start the sim. You can't re-size the box, but you can minimise/maximise. On a 1280 by 800 screen, running maximised in windowed mode hides the bottom of the SimSig window behind the toolbar. However, it is possible to drag the window upwards until the top blue border is nearly off the screen which brings the SimSig "toolbar" into view. Hi from new member Mal. I have had a couple of tries with Peterborough and think I'm getting the hang of route-setting and finding out which screen is which. I have solved a couple of queries by reading the SIMSIG overview which is excellent. My main problem is in trying to identify the routing and destination for each train from the timetable details given. There seems to be alot of abbreviations used and these are the problem, and there doesn't seem to be a specific manual for the Peterborough sim. Any pointers gratefully acknowledged. Thanks, Mal.

Mal, If you have specific examples then that would help.

Hi to lardybiker. Re your request for examples of my earlier post. Taking one train as an instance - 4E20, you then get MNTFGBR - WBTNGBF. I presume I have to find what these mean in order to establish the correct route. Cheers, Mal.

That's its ultimate start/end points (outside the bounds of the sim) Mountfield Sidings GB Railfreight - West Burton Power Station GB Railfreight by the looks of things. This site has most, if not all of them. Log in to reply |

Mal Most of the stuff you are looking at is actually peripheral as to how you route the train through the Peterborough sim. All you need to know for the purposes of your signalling is the route the train is due to take while on your panel. You can establish this by either left-clicking on the Train Description (TD) which should bring up the timetable for the train. Thanks to Sacro and Postal for your earlier replies to my query on routing. Sacro, the link to the abbreviations list will be most useful. Postal, you have solved another prob on timetable accessing. Thanks all for the excellent help. With a bit of practice I'm going to enjoy SIMSIG, there seems to be a ton of help and knowledge out there.
