Peterborough 2020 CANCELLEDIn light of the public health situation and the advice from the Government to avoid unnecessary travel and not to visit pubs, clubs and restaurants the meet was cancelled on 16th. March 2020. This was an unwelcome decision but SimSig felt there was no option other than for the meet not to take place.
If you wish to attend the meet, could you please register for the event using the link from the Upcoming Events section. You can go to the link directly by clicking here . It is important that people register even though there is no charge for the event so that we can advise the venue of the likely numbers attending.
Peterborough is a principal station on the East Coast Main Line. It is served by trains operated by LNER along the ECML as well as cross country and suburban services operated by Cross Country , East Midlands Trains , Great Northern , Greater Anglia and Thameslink . The pub is a 5 minute walk from the railway station.
Bus station is next door in Queensgate Centre
TBC
The Queensway Multi-storey Car Park is directly opposite the Brewery Tap. Take care if using this car park as some parts of the site close at 7:00pm on Saturday.
To get to the venue from the station, turn left out of the station and walk up to the main road (Bourges Boulevard) past the Waitrose store. Turn left onto Bourges Boulevard. Cross Bourges Boulevard at the first traffic-lights and The Brewery Tap is directly in front of you.
Please note that it is a rule of the house that only food and drink purchased from the Brewery Tap may be consumed in the function room.
The Brewery Tap has a bar menu from which food can be purchased to be eaten in the function room. The venue specialises in Thai food which those attending previous meets have enjoyed. The menu can be viewed on the Brewery Tap's website .
The pub has its own microbrewery on site producing Oakham Ales and also serves a range of other cask beers as well as the usual lagers, ciders and "smooth" beers.
A Wifi network without internet access will be set up so that the multiplay of the sims being used can take place. The venue has free WiFi available for those requiring internet access.
We will have use of the Tap Room, the downstairs function room. This is through to the right of the bar. This is not 'upstairs' as we have had at earlier meets.
The venue does not open until 12:00 noon. The venue will allow a small number of people in before 12:00 to arrange the tables as we require and set up the network. Those with laptops for use by the SimSig public, please arrive at 12:00 so that we can get started as soon after 12:00 as possible. If you are fetching your laptop you are advised to set up a separate User Account for the meet so that your personal information and data cannot be accessed. There will be someone at the meet who will be able to grant temporary licences if anyone's machine does not have a licence for a sim that is to be used for multiplay and chaining.
Those without laptops may arrive any time after noon but may have to wait while everything is configured for the meet.
There is no entrance fee for this meet. However, If you are going to attend, could you please register using the link from the Upcoming Events section. You can go to the link directly by clicking here . You are asked to register so that we can advise The Tap of the numbers attending.
Shared access to multiplayer simulations.

Please offer recommendations. Previous years have included a meal at a Mexican restaurant followed by drinks at one or more local pubs.
Please offer recommendations. Last time we visited the Brewery Tap some went on for a Chinese meal while others opted for Indian cuisine.
