System files and Simulations

  • The software in this area is made freely available with no warranties or guarantees.
  • To see all of the available simulations, you need to be registered at this website (which is free) and logged in. Most simulations do not require registration.
  • The software can be withdrawn or modified at any time and without any warning entirely at the discretion of SimSig.
  • Availability of the software is at the discretion of SimSig Ltd and the channels for distribution may again be changed or withdrawn at any time and without any warning.
  • SimSig welcomes donations but reserve the right to introduce a charge for the software made available here. Please remember that the adverts and donations are the only way this site pays for itself so if you like what you see, please consider how you can help keep this site alive.
  • Simulations (primarily BETA ones) may have a limited life span.
  • SimSig is officially supported on PCs running Windows XP/Vista/7/8. While there are ways of running on Macs and Linux, these are not officially supported.

Find additional timetables and sounds here.

When uploading a new timetable please ensure the title of both the zip and the timetable means something to the user and add a few sentences 'selling' the timetable;

  • unique and meaningful title
  • with a brief description;
  • whether real (with date) or fictional;
  • whether any era option is required;
  • the Sim version number it was written on (if known);
  • Author's name (credits etc. can go in the timetable's internal notes).

Example of upload naming structure: Edinburgh 1985_v2 (v3.238) :

This is in the format [Sim Name] + [indication of what the Timetable does and version number] + [Sim build used]

When uploading there is an option to enter a 'short description' note that you MUST first uncheck the auto-generate flag or the description will not appear with the upload. A Forum bug has been reported on this.

Please avoid 'personalising' the notes with comments such as 'This is my first attempt'.  Remember the timetable will sit in the download area for years so what you say needs to be as relevant then as it is now.  SimSig reserve the right to amend any text as we see appropriate and/or to ask you for further text before authorising.

SimSig is not responsible for the content of the files uploaded but accepts contributions in good faith.  Downloaders do so at their own risk and should have appropriate virus protection software installed.

Uploads need to be approved: if your upload has not appeared within 7 days contact Peter Bennet (see the Contacts page).
