Hello all, Anyone using any descent headphones with a good microphone? I purchased a Razer BlackShark some time ago, not exactly cheap at the time, seemed descent sound wise out of the headset but starting to loose it a bit, time to try something else I thought but maybe I could hang onto it, until I decided to try the provided microphone that I haven't used all this time that I've had it. Well it's absolutely awful! Microphone sound quality is dire, and even at full volume it's barely audible, and as I say if you can hear it the quality really isn't there. So I've decided rather than hang on to this for another year, I'm going to start looking for a replacement now instead, but something decent that is a proper gaming headset with a descent mic, some of these YouTubers seem to have descent quality when they are talking into the headsets, not that I know what headset it is! Any recommendations? Open to anything, no budget boundaries Log in to reply |

Depends on what you're looking for My last headset was a HyperX Cloud Flight S wireless headset. Good headset and it still works well (I now use this at work because I specifically wanted a non detachable microphone for home). 30 hours battery life. (Amazon order history says I brought this 2 years ago) I've replaced this with a new Turtle Beach headset (Can't remember the model number top of my head). Again, a good headset, but not as comfortable as my old one, but I think this is just down to time. ==Edit to add link== Found a link . Going back before this, I always had wired headphones, usually quite cheap ones that never worked well, even the USB ones Don't know if this might guide you in some direction. Another vote for Turtle Beach, I've got an EarForce Z22 which I've been using since I was at uni back in 2013, still going strong! Edit The Z22 isn't made anymore, but I would imagine any of the newer models to be just as good. Thank you guys, some brands I've not heard of not something I've kept on top of so not sure what the best brands are so I appreciate your help! Just been looking at HyperX and Turyle Beach reviews, both negative points they mention is lack of noise cancelling, I wouldn't know if that is a down point, I've only ever had noise cancelling headphones but I understand for home use being in own room it's not much difference? Think it may well be the HyperX I appreciate your suggestions thank you very much, only thing I miss with shops closing, is online shops mean you can't 'try' things anymore. Took me ages to buy a PC chair as it was difficult to find something I might like, because looking at pictures and descriptions isn't as good as being able to go to a shop and sit in one to try it! Depends how noisy your environment is. I don't find it an issue when I'm at home. Microphone noise cancelling can be done software side, so that's no problem. Log in to reply |
