Be patient, it'll be dealt with when one of the mods has time.

Issue that came out of the current KGX/PBO/CBG host was that 2P37EWD 0804 SMD-CBG has no rule to prevent it entering before its ECS working is able to reach Stamford.

I take it 2B51 07:25 SMD-PBO has ECS working from Leicester direction?

In Zone 6, no one can hear you scream...

Erm... It has...

...and 2B51 0725 Stamford - Peterborough is formed off 6B60 0640 Peterborough - Stamford DMU parcels train.

Are you sure you have the correct timetable thread? My Peterborough 1977 does NOT chain with anything else. It is entirely stand alone.

See screenshots...

If not, are you saying these rules aren't working?. i can't see anything wrong with them and they have always worked under test but I'm happy to run through it again to make sure.

Fair cop Vince. Think I only looked for a rule where 5P37 was the first train not the second.

Having said that, the rule did not work as 2P37 passed 5P37 at Helpston - @chrisdmadd will have the saves as it was his host.

Ok, I'll check it out by deliberately delaying 5P37....

What day were you running....just a guess, was it Saturday?

Hi,

I cant replicate this.

I've tested three weekdays and Saturday and the results are consistent and the rule works.

See attached.

Thought that might be the case. Think the issue maybe outside the bailiwick of TT writers.

Will see if I can get a couple of saves if any devs are following.

Just a thought Vince, it wouldn't have anything to do with the OP saying Pboro was chained with KX and Cambs in case that somehow nullifies the rule?

Gareth,

I don't know.

But as I've said my timetable does not chain with anything. It was designed as a stand alone and that's how it works.

It was based on a Fridays Only timetable created by Peter Bennett in the mists of time and whether that was designed to chain I don't know. Maybe Peter can remember.

Chris.

Thanks for this.

I ran it twice. The first time as presented, the second, I deliberately delayed 5P37 so as it left Peterborough after the time the return working should enter at Ketton.

Here's the results:-

First time...

5P37 departed Peterborough 07:43:00 (6L) and passed Ketton at 07:58:04 (6L)
2P37 entered Ketton at 0813 (13L) immediately behind 6E43

Second time...

5P37 departed Peterborough 08:06:54 (30L) and passed Ketton 08:22:49 (31L)
2P37 entered at Ketton 08:36:49 (36L) - 5 mins additional due to the rule not allowing enough time.

No problems there so I think you have become confused as to where the two Stamford starters originate, as per Soton_Speed's original message.

6B60 0640 DMU parcels Peterborough - Stamford forms 2B51 0725 Stamford - Peterborough

5P37 0736 Peterborough - Stamford forms 2P37 0804 Stamford - Cambridge

In reality the actual moves are the outward train has to run beyond Stamford to Ketton to cross over. The sim does not allow "activities" at Stamford so I can't start a train from there. Thus the timetable shows the outward train running beyond Stamford to leave the area at Ketton and re-enter as the return working.

The return working between Ketton and Stamford is actually an EDMU but I can't show it like that because of the sim limitation. So it actually shows as a passenger train from entering at Ketton although it is EDMU as far as Stamford.

The only problem with the rule was that it didn't allow enough time. Even if 5P37 was on time, 2P37 would return late due to the rule.

Hope that explains things.

I was in Nottingham Divisional Control at the time this was happening and Ketton box reported to us, so I know this to be true.

That's because Stamford is plain line with no ability to do anything. You can't have activities are Arlesey for the same reason.

Peter,

Thank you.

I understand, same as Torquay on the Exeter sim.

SAGA trains started there (ECS from Goodrington.

But you can in real life, that's the problem with using non-key locations

CM,

Do you have a save with both 5P37 and 2P37 in it? That's what sparked the original query.

Vince,

Would like to add my thanks for your efforts.

Vince,

The first snapshot I opened showed 5P37 leaving with no sight of 2P37.
Unfortunately though I made a bit of a schoolboy error and when I opened up the earlier snapshot I ran in for 30 mins and it saved over the other snapshots.

I guess you learn something new everyday haha.

Hi all,

Whilst I do not intend this to become another "official" version (1.4?) of this timetable I have created a version which provides a work-around for the issue of trains being refused into Nene CS around 0400. It is certainly not a replacement for 1.3 so please do not delete Version 1.3.

See this thread https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/51085

This was done by the simple expedient of giving the engine off 5B35 an entry time from Nene at 0402 instead of relying on a rule to determine its time of entry. This seems to reset the flag referred to in the thread and trains are thus accepted normally. The only caveat is that if 1B35/5B35 is very, very late (in excess of 90 mins) then the engine will be late.

Peter will sort the issue out in due course, I'm sure.

Please note that in line with this thread https://www.SimSig.co.uk/Forum/ThreadView/51113 the timetable analyser will produce a large number of warnings. These warnings may be safely ignored and the timetable works well.

Vince
