I want to park a class 4 into the Upperby Jn Through Good Line to allow a class 1 to pass it.

The train is 625m long, so will it fit and what is the length of the line?

Thanks in advance. Bugsy

The Upperby lengths from the signal number diagram are as follows:
DGL 466m
DTG 461m
UTG 589m

And the signal number diagram is a copy and paste of the actual sim display that shows on the screen in front of the user! The developer shows the lengths of all the loops on the sim display; the data for the Upperby loops are just to the right of the Upperby Bridge Junction label.

However, I suspect that there may be some mismatch between the sim and the listed data as a 625m. train routed from CE264 to CE274 clears all of the TCs except for the actual length North of the turnout to the DGL so can be hidden there with no impact on any other services. The same length train also lies clear if put into the DGL.

Bottom line; you can shunt the train to the DTG or DGL without impeding anything else (but we don't know whether that is prototypical or a data error).

Save your game then put it in there to see what happens. If it fits, good. If it doesn't, reload the saved game and revert to Plan B. Probably gives you an answer a bit quicker than waiting for response here.

This procedure is challenging to replicate in the real world without a properly equipped police box

Hi Postal.

Two things. Firstly, I have to admit that I didn't see the Upperby Yard track lengths on the sim layout 🙄
Secondly, I actually did as you suggested above and the train did fit. I know that I should have done this before posting on the Forum. Silly me 😐
