Just thought I'd mention that I am in the process of putting together a 1985 tt for Edinburgh. I have acquired the final piece of the puzzle so its all falling into place now, I am not sure of the timescale on completion but i am hoping for Easter this year or sooner. I also have quite alot of details for a 2011 tt but not sure of the interest in something so up to date. Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them. Log in to reply |

I'd certainly be interested in a 2011 timetable ! I actually enjoy historical and contemporary timetimetables for different reasons: older ones generally have less trains but require a lot of interesting loco runrounds and more freight whilst modern timetable generally have a much more intensive service.

Looking forwards to it - love the 80's TTs, the run arounds and additional freight movements using the assorted sidings and yards make it a real challenge.

I'm looking forward to your timetable, thanks for taking the time to create it. I also would like to share my interest in a modern 2011 timetable if you have the motivation after the 1985 one. I always find it more immersive signalling 'present time' timetables and stock as it would be nearer to the real situations that signallers are having to currently deal with and thus it can be easier to relate to, although personal preference will vary among users! I will follow your progress with interest. James Log in to reply |

I cant believe its been so long since I posted the above. The timetable is currently undergoing a beta test before I begin testing it properly and advertising the sessions. Currently 1097 trains in the sim at the moment and at one point around 1800 there is 56 trains in the game. I have enlisted the assitance of MELD who has produced a fantastic platform simplifier for Edinburgh Waverley and this will be made available prior to the public test. Given that the London meet may bring some new sims out, I want to perform the TT test prior to the London meet and assuming only minor tinkering then this will be released on the forum shortly afterwards. Peter has kindly provided me with NEScot and I will be expanding this 85 TT to chain to NEScot as soon as it is released as NE Scot is no fun with Multiple Units, hopefully that will be ready later this year. Posting will be made on the Forum as soon as there is a public test of the Timetable (for those who have experienced the first 4 hours over and over again.........sorry but you will have to do it one more time) Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them. Excellent news; thanks for your efforts! Although I'm not quite sure when I'm going to be able to use it with all the recent releases! There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

This has been uploaded this evening as 2 separate uploads. The main timetable is in one and the simplifier and ballasts are in the other. Any feedback or constructive criticism is welcome, I am sure there will still be other issues. I will correct any issues found in the timetable and re-release but will give everybody some time to have a go. v2.0.4 submitted. Found that the saved version had some unplanned and unexpected delays on it. These have been removed now so this should start much smoother than before. Just awaiting the mod approval. Blessed are the true believers, for only they shall walk the Path, and they shall be welcomed unto the realm of the Ori and made as one with Them. Great TT agilchrist. I'm really enjoying it, those extra ballast trains make it a real challenge! I'm currently at 5:11, and got a full panel already, I even have some problems at this hour fitting the trains in and trough Waverly due to a TC failure at Niddrie west jn. I wonder how the rush hour will go :o I do like the advanced warning system you implemented for the trains from Berwick: If I get an early freight from the south there will be a guaranteed class 1 behind it ;). I've found a problem with 4K13 03:05 Edinburgh-Stirling Motorail Vans. The train category is for Motorail Vans + Class 08 so it has a max speed of 15mph. It should be Motorail Vans 75mph as from the MR2 at Edinburgh Waverley as 0G89 which joins it is a pair of 37's. I should add that this is in the V2.0.2 timetable. I shall download the latest version and if it is still there. Chris. Last edited: 08/12/2011 at 15:15 by cdoward Log in to reply |

Chris The 15 mph should vanish when 0K13-1 runs to Haymarket and the train then take the speed of the 37s when 0G89 joins. TBH it was never noticed to be slow running during testing Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!! Log in to reply |

Loving this TT but currently having problems with 5G00 / 0G00-1A / 2J01. Train list is showing 0G00-1A waiting to depart but 5G00 infront which is itself awaiting joining train 0G00-2. 0G00-2 is in turn stuck behind 2J01. My guess is 0G00-1A has detached from wrong end of 5G00. Any comments welcome. Log in to reply |

Jav You are correct with 0G00-1A having its detach at the wrong end should be DER  0G00-2 is correct in being stuck behind 2G01-1 in P16 - 5G01should depart P16 @ 0847 followed by 0G00-2 @ 0852 Because 0G00-1A is stuck stuck at the wrong end of 5G00 you don't get this loco to join 2G01-1 in P16 The only train that needs any alteration is 5G00, and its first activity in NLL to DER 0G00-1A Passed the age to be doing 'Spoon Feeding' !!! Nice timetable very enjoyable i am using version 2.04 still got the problem with 4k13 doing 15 MPH also had a problem with 5L04 wanting to reverse in platform 1 to go into NLS. I also have the ballast workings in the TT and found that when 7T07 reversed into West Calder stood foul on the ground frame when the move was complete but was probably something i have done. I though i doing quite well by my standards until the trip wire activation !!!

Loving this TT; don't think I've ever struggled so much at 4am! Only a couple of issues I've found so far: 7T05 went into Linlithgow engineers, but 0T05 seems to have DF'd so is stuck behind the engineless 7T05. Also, 3S42 into Edinburgh MS1 divides rear for 0G00-1; when this happens 0G00 fouls all the TCs leading into MS1 There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway. Log in to reply |

Splodge, the loco detach is right at Linlithgow Engineers, make sure 0T05-1 has EGL in the path at Linlithgow and everything should be ok. It worked for me. Chris. Log in to reply |

Alan, just to say very well done to you & the gang for this timetable. Been waiting for it to be finally released. Swamped out a bit by all the tripper around Slateford East & Up yards, but that's just the way of it in those days, unlike the modern day scene. Will progress slowly through it, but very enjuoyable none the less. Thumbs up from me on this one.

I've gotten to 12 'o clock now and I am still enjoying it a lot (it is somehow quieter around noon as at 4am ). I'd like to suggest something to increase the difficulty a bit at Edinburgh though. I think the realism of the timetable would increase if there are some rules to govern the turn around timing of trains at Edinburgh. I now have trains from Pert, Dundee and Glasgow turning around in roughly 2 minutes. I've no idea what minimum turn around times were in 85, but I'd suspect it should be at least 10 minutes or so for the DMU's from Glasgow and even more for the trains from Perth and Dundee?
