I've played Exeter (Modern Era TT Summer 2006 v. 2.222) quite a few times and think I manage it quite well alone. However, I always get into a tangle with this particular train and always have to resort to 'extreme measures' and terminate the train! It is at Exmouth Jn waiting to reverse into P2 Central then on to St Davids before reversing into carriage sidings. Pulled off EJ8 to allow unit to clear Xover Down Waterloo to Up Waterloo at Signal 750, but cannot clear EJLOS as track circuit is showing occupied by 5E06. Instructing 5E06 to pass EJLOS at danger allows 5E06 to run into P2 minus its headcode. The apparent problem is not helped with both lines between St Davids and Central being occupied with trains heading to & from Exmouth, St Davids to Honiton and Exmouth to Bridgewater. Any help with this issue would be most welcome... Log in to reply |

I've had similar experiences with this myself! There's already a topic in the forum relating to this movement (last post Jan 2010). Might be worth a read! Log in to reply |

Not 100% sure (amnesia kicking in again), but I think the Exmouth Jn (rev) location was amended from the original version, and thus affects the TT here. I think the newer version will require the train to reverse at the CE (civil engineer) works headshunt behind EJ7, which will also help by keeping it out of the way of other trains in the area. now why did I go up the stairs? Edit: The rev location above 'might' be Rev Exmouth Jn East in the TT editor. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. EJLOS is a limit of shunt signal and thus has no proceed indication...

Another classic case of how much info is on here to help in such cases as this. Cheers. Mal. Log in to reply |

Mal, thanks for that. BTW, how do you go about editing it? Just experienced another problem but yet to do a search within the forum. 5L52-X leaves New Yard & runs intp P1. 1L52 comes up from the West and also runs into P1 where it joins 5L52-X. However, both trains won't fit in the platform and ties up a departure westwards from P4 due to the overlap. Tried shortening both trains but no luck. Played Exeter few times before, but can't remember this one! Log in to reply |

When the two trains have joined, try using the shunt forwards command in F2 to move it right up to the other end of the platform (change the train's direction if necessary).

" said:Mal, thanks for that. BTW, how do you go about editing it?I believe the issue is that the first train into the platform is stopping short at the Exeter Central end, the second train which needs to "bang on" therefore doesn't have enough room to fully berth in the platform track circuit. If you edit the timetable on 5L52-X and set it's stopping position at Exeter St Davids to "near end" it should work without error. I've tried various timings but keep getting a message 'no paths available Exeter Central to Exmouth Jc CE Works'. If anyone's tried this, would welcome timing suggestions. Cheers. Mal. I've tried various timings but keep getting a message 'no paths available Exeter Central to Exmouth Jc CE Works'. The CE works are on the left hand side of the two sidings at Exmouth Junction- trains have to go via "Rev. Exmouth Jn. East" to get in. The correct sequence should be: Exeter Central Exmouth Junction Rev. Exmouth Junction East (this is the siding protected by EJ7) "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now."
