Hi, I had the Croydon sim a little while ago, but since the website and forums have changed, I haven't been able to get hold of it. Can somebody either point me in the right direction or maybe email me a copy of the install files? The link on this page doesn't work, gives me a 404. Thanks, Sam Sam Wainwright Log in to reply |

This is the page of the old forum about the Croydon beta. However two of the three links listed there are not working (even after correcting the url in the usual way). If I remember correctly the last file was not available even on the old site in the last period (I remember several people said was not able to find it). I think I should have somewhere the file of 28 Jan 2007, if it is needed. Log in to reply |

[sup]Sorry I know this is totally off-topic but blimey the old forum I can just about remember seeing that a couple of days/weeks before I actually registered![/sup] Back on-topic now, I would love to get hold of the Croydon sim even if it is full of bugs. I've already seen screenshots of sorts of it and it looks likely a lovely sim to keep us all on our toes. Thanks. Ok, thanks AF. I think I've worked out how to amend urls to give the hosted archive and I've got a copy of Croydon from here. Thanks, again! Sam Sam Wainwright Log in to reply |

Unfortunately Pick-A-Web (the hosting company for the old site) have stopped hosting the old site altogether. We need to wait for/ask Geoff and/or others to post new links to the sims not available on this website. Geoff/Peter, Any idea when we might have links to older sims? As you are aware Croydon was only a Beta release. No doubt numerous changes have been made to it since it was originally put on the old forum. 'Fraid it is likely going to have to be the standard "ready when its ready" answer! Log in to reply |

Regarding Croydon (demo?!!), I could host it myself on my website and allow people to download it (.zip format) however I would require the permission of at least GeoffM and/or "others" who may be involved in developing the simulation before I could publish the link. Doing something like this would actually be of great use to me as I'd like some people to see how downloading off my website runs i.e: how quick it is, etc, so a useful test/experiment whilst at the same time being useful to those who do carry out this test for me. Do let me know if I could be of assistance here. I would be honoured to be able to do something like this for the SimSig community, almost as if it were in lieu of a financial donation from myself (although I have recently had an improvement in my finances so a financial donation is on it's way to SimSig as I type this message). I actually found an old copy of Croydon on a flash drive a while back, but when I try to open it it says it's not a valid Win32 application.

I have it but realise that it can't be hosted. Need to wait for it to come out as a loader sim I think but there is an area overlap where Crawley - which also features on the Horsham and Dorking sim - is concerned. I never get far on it though as it closes itself. Perhaps, for the 10th anniversary, we could have London Bridge and Croydon (or, as I have it, Gatwick)? Crawley could be taken out though due to its presence on the Horsham sim. In the meantime I wonder if I dare to screenshot the Horsham and Croydon / Gatwick sims joined up. Or would that cause displeasure (which I have no wish to do)? Dave Log in to reply |

A publically unreleased Gatwick from years back may contain Crawley, but the Croydon beta that was released years ago (no longer available) certainly didn't and wouldn't. Log in to reply |
