Hi all,

It may be of interest for some people on here to learn that it is understood that the commissioning of phase 2 of the East Kent resignalling, due for Easter 2015, has been postponed. As a result of this it would seem that the commissioning of resignalling on the Sheerness and Medway Valley lines (which had already slipped to August 2015 and August 2016 respectively) may be delayed further. The boxes will survive for a while longer.

That, of course, means that the new Rochester station will be delayed in its completion as I understand that the station cannot be finished until the box there is demolished.

The testers are, it is understood, already set to be busy over Christmas so it looks as if the new signalling may not be commissioned until Easter 2016 at the earliest.

HTIOI,
Dave

Sittingbourne, Rainham, and Sittingbourne, including the Sheerness Branch will be on one workstation and Rochester will be on the other one it will also take over control of Strood from Ashford IECC
Testing is now going on and should open for traffic on Tuesday morning
Rochester SignalmBox can then be pulled down to complete the new station.
