Hi all, just a query as I can't see the sig number mentioned in the Manual. I'm assuming OL3167 must be approach controlled as I can't set route into Fenny Compton DGL or sidings until affected train is at a stand. Thanks as usual for any comments. Mal. Log in to reply |

Yes, OL3167's overlap holds the loop points normal. This is probably because the points are very close the signal, can't say for certain as I don't know the area. You have to wait for the overlap to drop out before you can set the route in to the loop.

Indeed, the points are in the overlap of the signal and very close. Maybe 75 yards Aubrey Log in to reply The following user said thank you: delticfan |

You can set the route from the signal just before the loop into either the loop or the main before the preceding signal is set. As I understand it to be, the setting of the preceding signal will lock the points in EITHER position.

The points are less than 100 yards from the signal in reality. An alternative method to get the train in the loop without having to watch the overlap like a hawk, is to cancel 3165 and 3167, set 3167 to 7151, and then set 3165 to 3167 again. Just be wary that cancelling off 3165 will also return 3163 to red as there is double red protection here. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: delticfan |
