This is my first post in this forum, and I'd like to make it fairly clear that I'm fairly new to SimSig. I've just completed 24 hours at Carlisle, and while it can be a bit frantic at times, I've tried to keep a cool head.

There was one particular issue that I did find frustrating. I wish that I had noted down all the relevant numbers, but I found this particular situation rather frustrating:

Mail train (1S04?) arrives Carlisle P1, and then splits. Portion 1 heads north, leaving 1A93 at the platform. 2C33? arrives at the same plaform, and has instructions to join with a single-car 153 (2N5x). The 2C train, together with 1A93, seems to be too long for the platform. I'm unable to set a route for the third train for it to be able to join with the second.

In the end I tried to do a bit of shunting, and routed the 2C train into plaform 2, where the trains were finally joined, but it was all a bit of a disaster. If I had disregarded the instructions as to which platform the joining operation should take place, I might have had more success from the outset.

Any tips?

Sounds like the 2009 Timetable this.. Reguarding 1A93 should be shunted to Shunt Neck to SDG A I believe??.

Yes, I think it was the 2009 timetable, although to be honest, I can't remember now. I'm having another go, so I'll try the shunt move that you've suggested. Many thanks
