Working Timetable differences between operating days 06/01/2022 at 11:54 #143374

I have a freight working timetable from 1985 and in all of the timing columns, there are the expected operating days: TO, SX etc.

However, in *some* of the train descriptions, there are different days printed, so for example:

"22:50 FSX Freightliner Glasgow FLT to Dudley FLT", which in this case is above a timing column headed MSX.

Where there are operating days in the description, they appear to always be different from the ones in the timing columns. Can anyone explain this to me please? I thought if there were two different timings, there would be two columns, one with FSX and the other with MSX.

That train won't arrive at its destination until the following day. So it leaves Glasgow on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu (FSX), and arrives Dudley Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri (MSX). I suspect that is the reason for the anomaly.

A train in the WTT may be booked to run departing FSX from a distant point outwith the WTT area so running Monday to Thursday. This could arrive in the WTT area after midnight would actually appear in the TT area Tuesday to Friday (i.e. MSX).

So the train is booked as FSX related to the starting time and day but actually runs to different days in the WTT area.

Edit: still typing while GKR was posting.
