[quote="Forest Pines" post=32627]Here's a couple from me: one of signalling interest, and one that ... well, is basically just a nice landscape with some railway in it.

FP-1B:

Is FP-1B Edlingham viaduct in Northumbria on the old Alnwick- Coldstram line?

A clue for AJG1 - location appears in a Sim, albeit as plain track now.

Clue for AJG1 is that it is north of the border.

Reminds me a bit of Montrose but the angle and track configuration is not what I remember.

Somewhere in the Grangemouth area? It looks suitably bleak for that.

As a resident of "Bleakville" I don't recognise those new-builds on the right so I don't think so.

My guess for AJG1 is the old Ferryhill Depot in Aberdeen?

Correct Sim but not the location.

Final clue is that sim is Central Scotland and the location is not named on the screen.

Kincardine, on the Stirling-Alloa-Kincadardine line, likely from the Station Road LC.

Andrew,

The design of the signal looks like Aviemore's up starting signal so I think we are probably somewhere in Scotland. The design of the building says Glasgow/Edinburgh.

The design of the hut says late 60's/early 70's before Portakabins can along. The outside frame means and location cabinets suggest that this is very temporary set up, possibly stageworks for a power signalling scheme. The middle doll must have had a short are so we are looking a equi-speed junction which had some sidings in the 'V'.

Am I warm?

Peter.

Peter apologies for the delayed response, I hadn't noticed your post.

You are correct about being north of the border and a temporary arrangement. Not quite scheme works as such as the original box burnt down before re-signalling. Final clue is that it is a terminus station.

I reckon Attleborough. I've got a daytime shot the other way.

Andrew,

You are correct but I would be interested to know what gave it away. I called there late evening (between 9pm and 10pm) on Saturday 11th August specifically to obtain some night photos. Came out rather well, IMO.

Yes it is a nice shot.

It just looked a bit familiar and I don't think there are too many locations now in the UK with manual gates and a staggered platform.
