I'd like to see a East Anglia sim, but it won't happen due to many reasons not least I think there is a conflict of interest.

I think it's a fair bet that by this time next week we'll have the entire Icelandic railway network simulated.

I take it you mean Wembley Suburban Clive? Seen that... ;)

Just to confirm: is the new (loader) version version 2.1? I only ask because the older (non-loader) one seems to have a higher version number (2.216)…

I *think* that 2.216 related (in part) to the SimSig Core Code used to build the *.exe for WembleySub, whereas now the Core Code used is the Loader version.

(So Core Code v2, Sim version 216, perhaps? Current Core Code is version 4.something)

My guess is the remaining Lancing panels, with a small version of lewes as our Chrimbo pressie :xmas from Geoff along with a payware version covering a much larger area at a later date.

The latest Loader I have is V4.3.2

For anyone who missed Geoff Mayo's quote in another forum thread:

" said:
These days I rarely give advance news but there are new sims on the way, both recently closed boxes and very much modern and current signalboxes. Also fixes and improvements to released simulations. Watch the website!
If he is referring to "recently closed" boxes I think to the recently lost Sussex boxes (Hampden Park, Pevensey, Eastbourne, Bexhill, Berwick & Polegate) as one sim. If Lewes (the next box west of Berwick) was to be released then could be a good south coast chain in the offing (Lancing + Brighton + Lewes + Berwick & Eastbourne area). But who knows.....

As another thought I would also hope for Plymouth to come in.

around Sleaford and Spalding. Saxilby also closed recently.

Lincoln pre SCC would be a good call (I don't think its a likely release but would make a good double chain onto South Humberside!)

Although SHumbs requires a few fixes (possibly already made) and an upgrade to loader before that happens!

<snip video>

Should make timetable writing easier. Write an hour's timetable and copy about 18 times. All delays and failures set to 0 and incapable of being altered. (Well, it's Swiss isn't it?!!)

I shall be over there at the weekend... watching Swiss railways work is always a pleasure... that really is how to do it.

For anyone who likes an intense service with both express and local services and quick station stops the NYC subway,a quick look on You Tube under NYC Subway Trains will lead to some interesting and I know that Jersey Mike train videos has some cab rides. There are a number of very interesting junctions and flyovers
Just an idea Regards Cabooseman

Thanks for that... I saw the photo in somebody's paper but don't read enough German to have worked out the headline. Not at all like the Swiss.

Looking at Google Earth the line south of Rafz is double but becomes single north of the station, which has a couple of extra loop tracks (from one of which, I imagine, the local was emerging). On the face of it SPAD would be the obvious conclusion but the Swiss have an automatic train stop apparatus (Signum) that ought to have prevented this. Of course it's possible the distant warning was cancelled but the driver didn't then control the train, or possibly it was the local at fault and it had started away fairly vigorously from way back down the platform.

(I know it's bad form to speculate, but this old railwayman can't help it. Besides, I'm not sure anyone here knows how to access Swiss accident reports, so finding out what actually happened will be a bit hit-or-miss.)

Loader versions of Saltley, the NLL or Sheffield would be good.
However, it will be what it will be.

Hmmm. South Wales between Seven Tunnel / Lydney / Little Mill through to Newport & Cardiff as well as:

- up the Valleys via. Pontypridd to Stormstown (fringe with Abercynon) and Treherbert.
- up the valleys via. Heath Junction towards Ystrad Mynach
- through to Dinas Powys (fringe with the now closed Barry SB) and Penarth
- through to Llantrisant / Llanharan (fringe with Port Talbot PSB)

Would be a nice big sim but probably wishful thinking! However one query: where, on the Pontypridd - Abercynon route, is "Stormstown" - mentioned at http://www.signallingnotices.org.uk/signalbox_detail.php?t=blo&sb=45&c=&l=A - out of interest? A search on Google Earth turns up nothing.
