Correct! Looking towards Barnstaple - well, if you try to look down the line towards Lynton you end up peering inside the loco shed at the moment. So that should give you some idea of the gauge of the other two lines, at least.

Okay, a set of 11 from me. All of them are in the UK. Numbered CDWF0 to CDWF9 and then CDWFA. A random selection from my photo collection.

(Some of you will have been there when I took a couple of these. You're disqualified from those.)

Correct! For no. 8, at least. The Berliner Parkeisenbahn. If anyone reading is visiting Berlin I recommend a visit - it's in Volkspark Wuhlheide, Oberschöneweide.

Sadly, no. 6 is definitely not in Sweden. I do like the driver's mug propped up against the pipework.

Blatant plug alert

I'm looking for precision on these ones rather than just the station.

Clive,

I think they are:
CDFW0 - Seaton Tramway, Seaton
CDFW1 - Westbury North Junction
CDFW2 - Manchester Victoria (Metrolink)
CDFW3 - Ely West Curve

5&9 I agree with jc92

The rest have me puzzled (at the moment).

Peter.

FP6 is Lillian on the Launceston Railway, I think the drivers jacket (and happy memories) made me think it was somewhere colder.

Having kept you all at bay since Thursday 27th October on this one:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/14103794@N04/6287029320/in/photostream

and since Tuesday 25th October on this one:
http://www.btinternet.com/~dcharries/CIMG7326.WAV

I will now give the answer. Despite having given clues (including saying that the locations were the same) no-one got it. Therefore I will confirm that the location for the audio recording and for the picture was at Wokingham, Berkshire.

The interesting thing with this box is that, despite the dominance of electrics for much of the signalling throughout the locality, the box still retains a mechanical element as there are point rods and signal wires running from the box up to the junction just Southeast of the station. These are connected to the points at the junction along with a couple of spinning discs (white background, red bar) on the junction. The signalman advised me that the box has a 40 lever frame of which 15 levers are in use.

Question though, out of interest: how come the mechanical equipment has survived the resignalling? Either way I note that the station is to be redeveloped in 2012/2013 (see the Wikipedia entry for the station) but the schedule from NR seems to indicate that Wokingham will not be resignalled before 2024.

HTIOI,
Dave

JC: correct on 5 and 9.

Sam and FP: yes, 4 is Cathcart. The shot was taken looking north out of the window of the signal box towards Mount Florida; I'll let you argue out which junction that is, but North sounds right.

Peter: correct on all 4. I was hoping that the unusual aspect on 0 might confuse people.

That leaves 6, 7, 8, and A.
