Looking through some old YB King's Cross sub WTT's from 1972 and later, I have noticed that Welham Green did not exist on the 1972 WTT and then later became known as Marshmoor before resorting to Welham Green. Does anyone know when the changes for this actually took place.

Welham Green opened on 29 September 1986.

I cannot ever remember a station called Marshmoor at that location. There were Marshmoor sidings there though many years ago.

Thanks for the responses guys. I know my local station New Southgate has seen one or two changes also during it's time. I do sometimes wonder what the reason for the changes were though. Looking further into my original query the said timetable has the name Marshmoor in it but on closer inspection does not have any timings against it so it probably was the siding and not as I thought the original Welahm Green.

Geoff.

I know that also Stevenage station as it is known now was not located where it is. It used to be in Old Stevenage, I don't know if it will appear as Stevenage or Old Stevenage many years ago, although it will probably appear as Stevenage. It was relocated from it's old site to the new one a lot of years ago, can't remember how many though.

Stevenage moved to it's new location on 23 July 1973 with the old one closing the previous day. Some interesting photos of the old station here Here
