In keeping with the theme of trying to run a box without having read the special instructions how would one signal a train to the Larbert UGL to be passed by another train?

A 2-1 can't be sent since the train will not pass the box so it can be observed complete and the Plean section is not fully track circuited so the train could be divided. Is this a good time to use 2-4-2 or would I wait for the driver to phone to be certain the train is complete?

I don't know the exact arrangements at the box in question (if there is a tail lamp camera or not) but I can tell you that you may not use 2-4-2.

Wasn't this answered in your previous topic (i.e. the signalman has to prove the train is complete, either by inspection or by being told by the driver)?

Hmm, overlooked my answer before we started talking about switching out.
