Only programs ("apps" specifically written for iOS (which powers iWhatever gadgets) will work on them.

There was a discussion about it some time ago. However, given the dev team are already busy creating and updating sims for windows, adding a completely new platform and supporting it is very unlikely at this point and while the iPad is a better platform then the iPhone, there are some interface issues that would make it difficult.
