Hello, I had some discussions here over my (now licensed) site liveTrains.co.uk, for which I use the NRE LDB API.There is some sheduled downtime in a few days, and I had a notification email telling me what services would be unavailable - most of which I had never heard of :-) One of these was the service I use (LDB), but one was the staff version of the LDB - CCLDB it is all a bit academic, since I can't use the CCLDB, but it would be interesting to know what it can tell you over asnd above what is on the public API. Have never seen the LDB API information but from what I can recall when I saw CCLDB at a friends work, it shows the following; - Train Headcode, Train UID and/or Train RSID - Timing points (stations, junction, tunnels and bridges (the latter two only if they are actually timing points)) - If the train was early, on-time or late at that timing point, and how early or late it was - The delay attribution (reason for the delay) - Station platforms I think that is pretty much about it. Ah - in that case it sounds very similar to the public API, save that the public API only releases timing point info for stations :-)

Timing points at junctions aren't needed to the public for which a train is no more than passenger transport. They also seem not to need headcodes except those old people that still do use a book for looking up the timetable. This information can be useful to staff. Btw, they have ended printing that in the Netherlands when the 2011 TT started. Don't know how this is across the pond. AJP in games Log in to reply |
