Chris, the same as in Wiki for Immingham. Congrats mate. You have gone to a lot of painstaking work. I was after Redbourne Sidings that is not shown on the panel but I saw the post. It's already on Google!

Redbourne is actually the exit for North Lincol sidings. Redbourne is the other side of the sidings in the steel works. The exit naming is similar to the real panel and Redbourne is not sown on that either

Nosing around with a Quail map and google aerial views, and comparing to the TIPLOC table, I've got the following queries/thoughts:

Immingham Yard (sig IR70) is this 'storage' (Sim) or 'sorting' (Quail) ?

Immingham Coal Export terminal (IR203), this is down as 'NCB' in Quail, and there are some 'NCB' locations apparently in bulk terminal at present (eg IMNGCLA). It has been mentioned that 'Bulk Terminal' should be steelworks traffic only.

Location 'Mineral Quay Storage' (hidden on sim but via Mineral Quay entry/exit) , might this be 'STORA ENSO' warehouse in that area ?

Location IMNGSWT Immingham Storage West Terminal is shown as signal IW266, should it not be IW265, along with all the rest of western & Henderson dock locations.

Location 'Immingham Dock Exxtor Freightliner' is also shown as 'Seawheel Sidings'

Eastern Dock locations are shown as IE50/IE38 It isn't reversibel there, IE38 is just the depot reversal signal and any trains would come in at IE50.

Can someone local explain the 'NCB export sidings' ? I assume export has become import now, but how did it come to be so far from the ships. There's a huge lorry fleet visible on Google.

The Google view shows::
2 Fl coal trains at Humber I.T, one just arriving and one loaded
An ore train in Bulk, but no loco
A red 66 entering West Docks, a short tank rake at West storage
An 08 shunting Mineral Quays / STORA/EXXTOR
FL coal train in export/NCB
Nothing in the reception sidings, which seem to be taken over with piles of coal.
What other freight there is is nearer the depot, where it looks like loco fuel is just being brought in. Is it passing an old loco coaling tower ?
Nothing in the east docks area at all.

The IR70 line appears to link to Sorting Sidings fan A, while IR47 links to Sorting Sidings Fan B and the Reception lines fan. The abreviation S.S. might be Storage Sidings, or Simon Storage, which appears at many locations around the docks area.
The Coal Export Term appears to be OOU, the area appears to be all road haulage and stockpiling operations.
Virtually all the east docks area tracks appear OOU, all traffic appears to be by road.
IE38 was just used to label the line to the docks area, with implications as to running direction.

Rest assured, I spent many (happy?) hours trying to unravel the locations here, as GeekyB will testify.
This ABP map gives an idea of the complexity.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

I don't have a list to hand but Simon Storage certainly rings a bell when it comes to TIPLOC names.

The coal export terminal is NCB1, and is loading coal trains very regularly. The Bulk Terminal only loads coal trains for Scunthorpe (and not power stations - as it's run by Tata) - this is incorrect in the sim.

The Stora warehouse (where the paper trains were loaded when they ran) is within the Mineral Quay.

The abbreviation S.S. is Sorting Sidings - the official designation of Immingham Reception being Immingham Sorting Sidings (West) - the East Sorting Sidings being long gone! Within the Immingham Reception complex are Hargreaves (or CPL as it's now known), where coal is both emptied (6E09 from Swansea and 6E92 from Greenburn), and loaded, A2 B4 Siding (where pet coke is loaded for Drax), A2 Sidings (recently re-coded to Loading Line 7), where coal is loaded for Drax - although mostly the set off 6E09/6E92 running as 6H07.

Hope that helps.

God bless, Daniel Wilson

Yes I will testify to that fact....In fact its caused us more headaches than you can possibly imagine with Andy, myself, Noel, Neil, Chris Law and several others having input as well.

Having said that, if someone can provide me with data to show a location is incorrect, I will gladly correct the issues.

Thanks to Daniel for the local input.
Stepping back a bit though, while the sim caters well for the complexities today with individual locations inside the entries and exits, can I suggest the following:

Ensure that each sim entry / exit has a basic 'timeless' name so that any timetable can be written without having to use 2010 names ?
I think the following may benefit from an extra name:
Entry IE50 - 'Immingham Eastern Jetty'
Entry IE42 - 'Immingham Eastern Sidings'
Entry IR70 - could Immingham Sorting Sidings only be this entry, despite the link line ?
IR82 - 'Yard spur' ?
Also noticed that Storage West is listed as IW266, presumably a typo for IW265 (like Henderson terminal), and also IE202 for IE201.

Could the TIPLOC codes in Wiki for Scunthorpe incorporate the signals involved, the same as shown for those for Immingham?

It's even easier when you own 5 TOPS location handbooks in both alphabetical & Numerical order Chris. I'm glad I never threw mine away. Always knew they would come in handy. They also give you all the TIPLOC codes as well.
