The current public Peterborough is quite old and I don't think that ARS feature is in it. The next release will have it.

Yes there have been some major advances in the ARS module since the current Edinburgh, which I think was the last Sim to be released with ARS.

Hi all, just finished a run with the supplied TT, running with medium delays and TSRs popping up all over the place. Great! Only lost 2036 minutes, but only managed to claw back about 450 (almost as good as the big railway, lol!). Just a couple of queries:
Now having a go with TT 15 April 2010 with same scenario. There's an entry on the TT notes mentioning STP and VSTP workings. Just wondering what this stands for?
Also, is there a hard and fast way to deal with early- or late-running freights that are routed through a Pboro platform. Think I made the mistake of signalling them straight through, only trouble is, they stop anyway and cause a bit of a blockage. Thanks again for any comments. Cheers, Mal.

Well done- not sure off hand on the STP/VSTP though i suspect it'll be obvious when someone tells us.

On the matter of routing goods trains I assume if it stops then its booked a driver change or something and there may be a rule in force to hold the train. Generally non Class 1/2 trains will depart as soon as you give them the route unless a rule is in place; they don't wait for time though ARS may not set till near due time.

Hi Peter, thanks for that. Just thinking the same as you regards the STP/VSTP query. Really curious to know what it means, but like you I reckon it could be obvious.
You've confirmed my suspicions regarding freights though. I think to be on the safe side I'll only signal as far as the station then let the mysteries of the program help me out. Cheers, Mal.

I think the goods loop is read as the station too, though that may not be reachable from the main line from memory.

STP is "short-term planning". VSTP is "very short-term planning".

The goods loop is part of the station and can be reached by up trains to March, but not down trains from King's Cross.

Cheers Clive, now you've said it, the term does register with me.

Re the goods loop - I'm running the TT 15th April 2010 and a couple of the early morning freights are booked 'goods line'. I think I routed them wrongly through P4/5 as they both dropped off ARS. I take it the goods loop is the stretch behind P5 reached via sig 799 and leaving at sig 797 towards the March line then using crossover at Pboro East? It is marked as 'goods' but I thought it seemed a long way round. If my assumption is correct, I'll make a note for next time.

The next Peterborough release will be scrolly. I've no plans to make Cambridge scrolly.
Will this have banner repeaters as there are three sited south of Peterborough - one is sited for the Down Slow at P421, Up Slow at P428 and Up Fast at P430 signals.

These are the only 3 that I am aware of and which are easily viewed by travelling passenger on the trains using the route.

Just thought I ask, that's all

That's great Clive. I've got Pboro sussed and have been imagining it as a scrolly.

Have checked my source (from 2009) and can confirm they are the only ones within the simulation area. However, I believe it may all depend on the era of the simulation. If the simulation was, say, set in 2006, and a banner repeater was installed in 2007, then you probably wouldn't see it in the simulation unless the simulation was updated to show this.
