Coming soon - a large batch of 2011 simsig TTs! 13/02/2012 at 16:55 #29370

Hello all,

You may have noticed that I have not uploaded another TT yet for some time now, and that's because I've been working on a batch of Summer 2011 TT's that started mid-last year, and I'm still working on it!

The TT's are Summer 2011, and have real workings in but with a twist. Based on my 2009 fictional TT, HSTs are on booked diversions via Westbury as Uffington (Swindon) is closed for engineering work. Voyagers are on a VSTP diversion due to a problem in the Bridgwater area (might have the landslip scenario again). The TT's are for the following sims:

Exeter
Westbury
Bristol
Swindon
Gloucester
Saltley
Trent
Sheffield
Worksop
South Humberside

Exeter is just about done, Westbury is 99% ready, Bristol and Gloucester around 98% done and the rest have passenger workings and ECS workings in, it just needs freight and charters added.
As it's a Saturday TT, there isn't a great deal of freight. The freight workings are actually 2012 ones, mainly as I lost out on collecting data for 2011, but I doubt there is much difference.
Any freight that is SO-Q will run, just to bump up sim to make it bus each time, as I have designed these for multiplayer use.

Of course, I know some sim's don't join yet (Gloucester - Saltley) but at least it will be ready for when Gloucester is upgraded. I am planning to fill the gap when Derby is out and, if I have hair left, New Street sim (again, when it's out).

There may be some fictional light engine moves or tamper workings or something to fill in gaps and keep multiplayer sessions busy, but I doubt I'd be going over the top with 500 tamper moves or something!

I am wondering whether it is a good idea to add them to the downloads section into the appropriate sim section, whether to bung them into one zip file and ask if it can be uploaded as a pack, or both!

I shall keep you updated when it is near completion, it's taken long enough to get this far but I don't think there is much left to do now!

Cheers,

James.

Probably best to upload them individually, as they all have to be "installed" manually anyway.

Other option which you could consider is doing both.

For me it's just as easy to download them all in one zip, but hen i think they would also have to be uploaded individually as well, to allow people to choose individual t/t's

Maybe put all the 5 Western ones into one zip (under say Bristol ) and the 5 E Midlands in another zip (under Saltley). Then they are grouped into the likey (even probable :woohoo: ) chaining sets.

(sub-folders for each TT within the zip would be handy too)

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

From an admin perspective one per sim is best otherwise it just gets complicated and why is it there and not here and so on.
