A handy trick for mileage-bashers who are collecting the routes round Glasgow is to take the ferry between Helensburgh and Gourock avoiding a lot of doubling back from the ends of the lines. The bad news is that the ferry service is being cut back due to local government subsidy cuts and will only operate between Gourock and Kilcreggan after 1st. April 2012, breaking the link between Gourock and Helensburgh.
