If the F2 Train List is not available in client mode then how do you determine a TD? For example, in Cambridge, if a train arrives at, say, Cambridge platform 2 and divides I would transpose the new TD of the rear part of the train when it arrived, i.e., the first train that will next leave. If, in haste, I’d neglected to make note of the DF TD, then once the first train departs I’m left with a train at the platform without a TD. Without being able to view the F2 Train List then I will only know what it is when TRTS. And, as an aside, in Cambridge even if I did know the TD in advance of TRTS I can’t transpose it into the platform berth – right-clicking over the occupied TC at a platform with no TD only allows the Add Sticky Note option.

You can ask to the mate who hosts. (F2 is available in server mode).

As Hari says you can ask the host to check for you, alternatively where available you can use a sticky note to keep track.

IRL, you would have to wait for TRTS (and that wouldn't give you TD), or wait for the driver to call in.
Also I think (maybe one of our 'pros' will clarify) that if you have an unidentified flying object train, it should be held at the earliest opportunity to ascertain its TD.

You can put 2 TDs in each platform at Cambridge, so you can interpose one new TD in the spare berth then change the other without losing it.

Yes, I did think that the host could be asked, but wanted to know if the client could find out for himself without hampering the host.

As for Cambridge, the only way I think that two TDs are shown at a platform is if there is already a stopped train with a TD and another train with a TD arrives and shares the same platform. If, however, a train arrives at an empty platform and divides in two then you can interpose the TD of the first departing train onto the old TD without a problem. But at this point you don’t appear to have access to the second berth to interpose the TD of the second train. Thus, when the first train departs taking its TD with it, the platform TC shows there is still a train at the platform but without a TD. If you know the TD the only allowed right-click option is to add a sticky note and wait until the second train departs at which time the berth gets populated with ‘****’ allowing the interpose option once again, but not before. Do you see what I’m getting at? I will have to try a different simulation to see if this is common feature to all.

You can interpose a TD by right clicking most signals (including and exit triangle) and the TD will appear in the berth associated with that signal. You may need to make sure the appropriate 'option' is selected under the f3 tab- see WIKI for further instruction.

Right Away:

The said issue you have raised is a simply one to cure...

As for the 'F2 Train List', this is only availible on the server of the sim and for the TD into the second berth (Cambridge P2 - Signal 152) for the first TD and the second can be interposed by selecting the exit signal at the right of the TC's.

Any issue's with this, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Howard.

Example at Cambridge: (click on image to get better resolution)
]
P3 shows where TD appears on arrival into empty platform.
P2 shows what can be interposed; Pt1 by interposing at sig 152, Pt2 by interposing on the triangle at the buffers.

Can be done either way, 'I', enter TD, click on sig or right click on sig, enter TD.

TRTS does appear to reveal the TD even if there was no TD in the birth, e.g., TRTS FOR 2W05 AT CAMBRIDGE

Thanks Andy, Howard, Peter for telling me to use the platform end signals and grey triangle. I hadn't realised I could do that.
