Just been playing Lancing and looks good.

I will have to work on my technique to avoid all the level crossing penalties.

Yes, Paul Curran certainly does produce some cracking little sims, and Lancing looks to be another one.

Nice surprise. I assume the timetable is compatible with Brighton?
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

Yes, the WTT is compatible for the Brighton Sim, should be 15th October 2009.

All new sims tend to be released with a timetable from 15th October 2009, as does Lancing so I assume they are compatible.

It is worth noting that even on the 0445hrs start it will still be half an hour before you see a train.

If I run the sim at the highest speed (because no train enters yet at 00:15), I can't open the F4 timetable window. It only opens as soon as I pause the sim or go back to normal speed.

Or should I open a separate topic about this?

Albert, I tested your problem and found everything works Ok for me. Remember F2 will not open till a train enters the sim.

Untick "Use Public Documents folder" in F3, and then start a new simulation and it'll be there. Alternatively, copy the TT from the SimSig\Lancing folder to your public documents folder.

as detailed in the sim manual, this covers panel 1 of lancing box only. panels 2 and 3 cover to angmering and fringes (i think) with arundel Junction

The TT that came with Brighton's Sim is Kurt's September 2009 v1.03 and is not compatible with Lancing. Is there another TT dated 15 October 2009 about?

According to track atlas, it's CCTV.

interesting considering the position of the box in relation to the crossing. i assume the revamped box makes it difficult to view, also given that the panel 1 operator is at the wrong end of the box.

I've made a TT that *should* be able to chain correctly for Brighton. See http://www.SimSig.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=topic&catid=96&id=33754&Itemid=0

Just encountered a slight 'irregularity'.

The time is 07:37 and train 1N59 has just entered at HOVE platform 3 when I get a phone call from the driver stating that he is waiting at RED signal T677 (Hove starter). There are no route lights set from Hove.

I have uploaded save game.

EDIT: same problem is now affecting 2C95 at the same location.

When should the crossings be dropped relative to the trains?

Signaller's call  , need to learn the panel, and check the TTs.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

For Lancing it's good to lower the barriers as soon as the train has passed the last green signal. Unless the train needs to call at a station before the LC. In other sims with faster speeds or four-aspect signalling you may need to lower barriers earlier.

I usually drop the barriers 2 minutes before the trains due.

Are level crossing penalties enabled on Lancing, Paul?

Regarding the level crossing penalties, these should be in the simulation. John, regarding the issue at Hove I'm currently up in Newcastle and will have to have a look at this when I get home. If you are early turn at work may get the chance to discuss this then.
