47624 'CYCLOPS' stands at the buffer stops on platform 2 at london St. Pancras station in March, 1988. The TPO stock is stabled in 'A' Sdg which will form the stock for the St. pancras - Newcastle TPO later that night. Also note the huge station clock in the background. Not too sure if this clock is still in place today under the same famous station roof, can anyone confirm?

The clock, or possibly a replica, is definitely there and impressive too.

Edit: link to photo.

its a very faithful replica. the original was sold off by BR and then broken upon removal (by accident).

interesting movement that could be replicated on the Wembley mainline. this movement was from the Willesden euro term formed of 66 512+564 top n tailing a ballast cleaner set. it was routed from Willesden sws to Acton wells junc, then to Willesden no7 junc via Acton canal wharf, then back to Willesden sws, then back into the euro term.

The second photo shows the same loco 37220 passing Whitemoor Junction with 6M20 1310 SX SCN Broxbourne - Toton Old Bank. Both photos taken during the summer of 1987.
Toton Old Bank was at this time the main yard at Toton for Speedlink Coal Network services or SCN for short.

These 3 photos were taken from a train passing Crewe Locomotive Works in 1986. The line from Crewe to Chester passes the Works & in the yard there were several withdrawn Cl.47s, AC electric locos & Cl.40s awaiting the cutters torch. A very sad sight indeed.

This photo is taken from the north end of Chester TMD on the Liverpool line side on 140986. There's a Cl.08, Cl.56 & Cl.47 outside the maintenance shed & to the right is the fuel point.

This photo also taken on the same day 140986 shows several DMUs stabled on Chester TMD. Chester station can be seen in the background.

This photo was taken from a train heading towards Wolverhampton & shows the north end of the TMD during the summer of 1987. Cl.20 on the right hand road, Cl.47 on the centre road & a Cl.31 on the left hand road. The covered line next to the Yard light mast & the TMD building is the fuel line & in this photo you can see the fuel tanks to the right at the north end of the TMD. This facility I understand is now being demolished much to the enjoyment of the residents who live in the houses that back onto the TMD & Marshalling Yard at Bescot.
