The sim was running without ACI. 5N46 arrived at P4 from the carriage sidings and the headcode stopped in the lower TD berth (between the platform and the ACI button). I interposed 2N46 by right-clicking on signal P96. 2N46 appeared in the berth next to the platform, which I expected to be the departure berth. When 2N46 left, it was 5N46 which stepped forward and not 2N46. Is this a bug or a valid simulation of puzzling real life behaviour ? Graham Log in to reply |

As Ron says (well he told me in the first place) there is no working TD system at Perth so what I set up is what I set up. It's made complicated by the myriad of shunt signals in the area so what is right and what is wrong is, perhaps, subjective. If I were starting again I'd probably not link shunt routes to TD stepping. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

Even on commissioning in the 60's there was only limited TD for through trains due to the amount of detaching and attaching vehicles. Only for freight lines, long gone, and Up trains from Dundee - see link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/llangollen_signalman/5829470149/in/set-72157626954283922/ When I first visited mid 80's TD was still in full operation, with limitations as noted above, but gradual withdrawal has led to single stroke bell to Hilton, Stanley and Barnhill.
