The Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway's Signalling School layout will be 100 years old, on the 18th of January 2013. To celebrate, the museum are having a weekend long (3 days) series of events. One such event is the chance to get "hands on". Perhaps inevitably, it appears to be fully booked already! Will there be things happening on the Friday? I'm busy that weekend but might have a day trip on the 18th.

Friday is the "official" birthday celebration for the layout. it will operating all day with various members of museum staff having a crack on it, as well as the birthday cake and speech from the musuems director (whoever that is now). saturday is a day for those who trained on the layout to come back for a reunion and share any stories or memories. again the layout will be operating. I am impressed that the sunday is sold out, i didnt think it would prove that popular actually. its also the only day i will be down so i guess ill have my work cut out! Maybe there are still tickets available, I'm not sure, but the booking calendar appears to be stuck on December with no way to pick a date  I'll have another look next week.
