Currently trying to run the KX 1955 steam timetable single-handedly - a tad optimistic for a newbie, I accept - lots of pausing

I have all random failures turned off but shortly before 4am, I seem to be stuffed at Freight Terminal Jn.

I need to get OD11 out of KX yard into platform 7 and 0A81 is waiting to get into the yard.

Points 300 and 31 (?) appear to be locked with track circuits (?) showing in blue.

Hopefully attach an image of my predicament.

My first post - so please be gentle with me if I'm missing something obvious!

Many thanks in anticipation for any help/suggestions. Will switch to my paid-for WH sim until I can sort this out.

The blue bits on the points means they're locked by you - this can be useful when you want to move a train over a route which doesn't start at a signal, sometimes you can direct the overlap to a track of your liking etc. Left click = normal, right click = reverse.

Just click the points once more to unlock.

The points have been 'keyed' normal. At some point in the game, you've clicked the point ends, which have set them to the Normal position, and held them there. To release them, either left click or right click on the point ends. The blue marks will disappear, and the points will move when routes are set.

Thank you both Finger and Steamer - such a simple solution!
Doh! Must have inadvertedly 'locked' route myself - now resolved...

I've been 'playing' on Simsig for quite some years now and I still inadvertently manage to lock points like this. IIRC in the old days you didn't get the blue indication on the points to show they had been keyed !!

If it's any consolation, I read about a substantial delay incident where a set of points had inadvertently been left keyed (after a possession?) in the throat of a busy London terminus, preventing routes being set to or from a good number of platforms for quite some time as the morning peak was kicking off...until someone realised what was wrong!

Thanks to the rapid help given last night, I am mow moving again!

It appears that topic of locking/keying points is covered in the wiki manual in following link:

About to pay for the new Victoria SE sim - will read the manual fully this time before asking questions that are already documented!
