I've written a simple schematic map of the Birmingham area, showing all main routes and signal box areas of control. I'm planning on uploading it to the Wiki, but before I do I'd like to check that it's accurate and reasonably clear.

Notes: The map is intended to show how each signalbox fits in to the rail network around Birmingham, hence only selected stations and other locations are shown. Walsall is not currently simulated, but I think the area is easier to understand if Walsall is included.

From the reading of this thread, perhaps including "& Wichnor Junction" on the Aston sim would please some people.

Apart from that I must say it's a sterling effort, keep up the good work.

Works for me Steamer. Centro used to put out a schematic map similar to the Underground one and I think it was colour-coded to show different routes/services.

I have one small amendment, if I may. The colour for Aston and the colour for New Street are very difficult to discern from one another. Could I suggest you swap the Oxley green for the Aston purple?

That way there is a definitive change in colour from New Street to Aston.

Other than that....Good job.

Spot on, works a treat for me. Just a minor typo in Litchfield. The 't' moves it to Hampshire.

Edit:- and being overly pendantic, inconsistent with 'Jcts' and 'Jns'.

I agree with Lardybiker, even though I know the area of control of each sim, having been involved with the testing of these, I would struggle to tell that Aston and New Street are different signal boxes. But aside from that a very very good piece of work for the community.

You have to get a red before you can get any other colour

Nice work. Where in the Wiki will you keep it? Since it combines several sim areas, will we need a new Wiki page for this and any other home-grown combined maps, e.g., Scotland (if one is created)? Wherever you do decide to upload it, there should also be a link to it in the Rail Maps section of the Links page.

I'm sure I've seen one somewhere.

I'm planning to link to it in the simulation manual for all the relevant simulations, and also on the maps and plans page.

Thanks for all the comments. Suggested improvements have been made, and links to the map added to the Reference Section of the relevant simulation manuals, and the maps and plans page. I suppose for completeness I should add a link here.
