On my Sim when 5S87 gets to Camden on the US, as soon as you try to route it over the whole sim freezes and you have to end it in task manager.
thought it was my PC at first but I have replicated it three times now and the same thing happens each time !

Which T/T are you running (0000 or 0445 start)?
I have searched through & cannot find a 5S87.

If its the 0445 start then perhaps it is 5S37?
If yes, I have been unable to replicate the behaviour your sim/computer is exhibiting.

I suppose the final question to ask is that you have the up-to-date loader (4.1.2)?

Can you post a copy of the save here so we can interrogate it as I for one have been unable to recreate the bug

Please post the exact location as well (there are several Camdens) - eg signal number.

I've got a save to reproduce the problem on the current loader (4.1.2) and simulation (1.1) version.

Here's how:
After 2C28 has cleared the junction area, set a route for 2K30: First from 314 to 312 and then from 312 to 288. The latter will reliably freeze the sim and send it into an endless loop with maximum CPU utilisation.

Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

I can reproduce this every time, however only if P2081A, and P2081B are normal before requesting the route from 312 to 288, if I manually key the points reverse and call 312 to 288 the sim doesn't crash.

Is it depending on what version of the loader you are using?

No - using the version I have under test, which will become 4.3 in due course, the saved game attached above causes the freezing. But on the same Loader, if I try to recreate the situation from a new game, I can't cause a freeze.

So the problem is carried forward in the saved game!

...and, thanks to Clive, it's now fixed. Dodgy misconnected track but not in the immediate area which is my excuse for not spotting it!

Bumping an older thread:

Is anyone still finding the sim freezing occasionally?

I've had it happen 4 times in the first 9 or 10 hours of the default TT, but each time I'm unable to reproduce it from a savegame or snapshot. I load from a save, perform the actions again in the same order to the best of my ability, and it works fine, only to freeze later on.

The only constant is that it happens while routesetting in the Camden Jn South area, but it's different signals on different routes for different trains each time, and there is no warning - it just locks straight up.

Definitely have updated to the latest sim and loader versions (checked thismorning).

Was this game started since the last loader update on 20 January 2015? If not, you need to start from scratch and let the developers know if you are still having problems.

Today, I had a freeze (not responding) running Wembley Mainline Olympics 2012 V1.1 Loader 4.5.8 Windows 10.
2K97 22:04 Euston FL to Watford travelling at 90mph came to a sudden stop at S129 Willesden Nth Jn. F2 stated WFCRTBS! I tried almost all variations of the timetable to find a cause. I did notice that when I created a new table similar to previous trains, the validation added in additional locations. I had no problems with any of the previous DF trains.

I have attached a save just before the incident.

Why is it so?

Another problem with Wembley Mainline. In the attached "ssg" If you select 2K02 (on US) to run from Camden Sth Jn signal 312 to line D signal 106, the sim fails to respond!
