New to this SIm and not very experienced anyway

My 6V76 has terminated on the UP Hendon at signal 468 instead of continuing to Dudding Hill Jct. (shows as Terminated No More trips)
a) Why?
b) How do I get rid of it!
c) Or is it supposed to sit there?

Firstly, can you please confirm the exact timetable you're currently running? You can do this by going to F4 Timetable List and looking at the Timetable Name on the General tab. If you could please also copy & paste the full timetable name here in this thread then it would be appreciated as this should allow for exact identification of the timetable that this problem has occurred on, usually right down to the precise version (if applicable), and subsequently allow for the timetable writer to make any amendments to the timetable that may be necessary.

With regards to how to "get rid of it", at this point your best option would probably be to go into F2 Train List, right-click on 6V76, go to Timetable Options then select Abandon timetable, and as long as the route is set further onwards from Signal 468 (I'd suggest that you set it towards Dudding Hill Junction) then 6V76 should trundle off that way with no further problems.

I suspect that this happened because there is a simple timetable error with that particular train - perhaps it is just missing Dudding Hill Jn as it's last timing point. This may or may not also be a problem with other freight trains in that area too. It is highly unlikely that 6V76 is meant to sit there nor even terminate there.

I have checked both timetables currently available in the downloads area for this simulation, checked and tested the routing of 6V76 in both, but have not found nor had any issues with it. It is possible that you are using an outdated version of the timetable, and that version has the afore described error in it. The latest version publicly available for the "West Hampstead 15th Oct 09" timetable is located here (the 04:45 start version is located here); whilst the latest version publicly available for the "West Hampstead August 2012 Weekday" timetable is located here.

Short answer

a) Probably just a timetabling error - see third paragraph above if you'd like to identify if this is indeed the case; and/or see fourth paragraph above for links to the latest versions of what is likely to be the current timetable you're playing - you are advised to update to the latest version, which unfortunately means you'll have to start over again.

b) Open F2 Train List » Right-click on 6V76 » select Timetable Options » select Abandon timetable.

c) Highly unlikely.

Timetable version:
West Hampstead 15th Oct 09 v4-7

Sequence of events 6V48 held at signal 468; 6V76 brought up behind hit; some time later signal 468 cleared for 6V48 which happily went off to Dudding Hill Jct, but when 468 was cleared for 6V76 it just stayed (6V48 was long gone and all relevant track circuits clear except for 6V76 sitting at 468)

Abandoning the time table has allowed it to proceed.

Thanks for your help

By your own admission I'd suggest that West Hampstead is not the most appropriate sim to be introducing yourself to.

Oh I don't know people will play the areas they want to anyway. West Hampstead is a lovely sim and by far not the worst sim to kick off on. Carlisle on the 79 timetable , Edinburgh with ARS fully off , now those bad boys are hardcore.
