Is that a danger or pieces of history being preserved? Granted, many people prefer current era sims; but others like older sims too. Sometimes it's information that can be hard to come by: I'd rather an older sim that's accurate than a new sim with a lot of guesswork. The two Victoria sims will both have 1980s eras to present day eras - in the case of Blackfriars after 2012, not right away, but will be coming soon.
I agree, Geoff. I particularly enjoy the older era simulations like Trent and Sheffield that have loco changes and all that good stuff. I do love the new sims as well, and I have purchased all of them. However, they are overwhelming at times (I like to leave ARS off). Being overseas I am not able to join many multi-player games that would make the larger more complex sims more palatable.

Personally, I am a mostly silent, yet long time user of these simulations. I am really happy that it has been monetized to encourage development, and I look forward to forking over more dollars and pounds to see what you fine people create.

Fenchurch Street would need reworking quite a bit to chain with any future NLL release, AIUI, and (apologies if I'm putting words into anyone's mouths here) this is probably unlikely to be done due to its unique status as a monument to the history of SimSig.

I keep up to date the chaining situation as I understand it in this rather ugly map I knocked together a while back:

http://tim32.org/~muzer/SimSig-pax-map.png (warning: big image).

(Red airbrush is a free sim, yellow airbrush a paid one. Two green lines means chaining works between the two sims. One green and one orange means that both sims exist, but one (the one on the side of the orange) needs a refresh before chaining will work. Two orange lines means that both sims would need a refresh. One green and one red line means that the sim on the green side (according to the menus, which are not always accurate, unless I've heard differently from the sim's dev) will chain with the sim on the red side, but the latter doesn't exist yet (and might never exist). A grey line marks the place where a smaller sim ends in the cases where you have overlapping areas of operation (Royston/Cambridge, Cowlairs/Central Scotland, Euston/Wembley Mainline, Waterloo/Wimbledon), and a black line is used between Waterloo/Wimbledon and Drain (and possibly other places in the future) to make it clear that two sims are not connected). Again, any corrections are welcome - it's only recently (in this thread) that I was told that Trent and Sheffield don't actually chain to Worksop, for example.

I like the map Muzzer, you'll need to make the line for Llangollen a little bit longer soon, Corwen East is now open!
"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

Thanks! I assume Llangollen will be getting an update soon, then?

And yeah, apologies for how the map looks - I intended it to be a cool thing to throw together just to get a visualisation of SimSig's extent, then I decided that it was useful to keep me aware of which sims do what, so I've been keeping it up-to-date since. And I'm awful at anything involving image manipulation (never really got to grips with Inkscape for example), so I went for the method of converting it to a bitmap and using a paint program
