Right. I knew this would probably happen somewhere. I have a platform clash on my new KX TT that I cannot solve. Here is the score:

- Train 1S24 departs Platform 4 at 1600hrs
- Train 5D23 arrives Platform 4 at 1613hrs and becomes 1D23, leaving at 1703hrs.
- Train 1C67 is booked to arrive Platform 4 at 1628 and becomes 1C62, leaving at 1653.

The clash arises because 1C67 & 1C62 are booked for a 365 EMU (82m) while 5D23 & 1D23 are 9-car HSTs (239m) so it will not be possible to fit both into Platform 4 which is only 292m long: the combined length of 1D23 & the 365 EMU would be 321m which is nearly 30 metres longer than the platform.

I need to find a new home for 5D23 & 1D23 or 1C67 & 1C62. Any advice would be welcome but please bear in mind that I wish to stick to the given platform arrangements as much as possible.

If anyone fancies trying to unravel this mess-up then please drop me a PM and I will supply the diagram as I have it. I am itching to get this TT tested and released!

Cheers,
Dave

Mention of attachment removed. I will send the file though to anyone who thinks they can help if they PM me with an email address.

Look for another platform, 1C67 + 1C62 should be the easiest pair to re-platform. A look on RTT shows it as using Platform 9 on Sunday 22nd February

Thank you for the tip. The TT I am basing this around is that for Sunday 01st February where SL1 & SL2 were closed Holloway South to Kings Cross. This meant that P10 & P11 were not used to there were many variations on the day.

Cheers though,
Dave

Interesting. Thanks for that but how confusing. When I compiled the data RTT gave 5D23 & 1D23 in the same platform with 1E13 forming 1S26. When I compiled the TT I lodged an FOI request to East Coast Trains who kindly sent me all their HST diagrams for 01st February and I based the HST bookings on that list in terms of subsequent duties.

One wonders why 5D23 didn't become an STP numbered 5S27.

It may well have been a short-notice stock change.

Driver Curran does it to me all the time...

Ive got a diagram sheet for a station including stock workings and crew workings and it does not tally with RTT at all, so as good as it is it cant be releied on in advance to ensure platforms.
